Summer in the courtyard, a battle to escape technological extinction, a fight to the end, the UK versus the US, tapes versus vinyl, genre versus genre, Mortal Kombat versus Streetfighter - however you want to bill this it seems like a good enough excuse to get out into the courtyard on a Sunday and listen to some tunes. The Just Dannns, combined of 20th Century Hangover and Spontaneous Rothwell, packed with there little plastic boxes and pens just in case the tapes get screwed up in the machine, take on the The BJ DJs tag team of Jay 1, 2, and ADDJ who plan on bringing down their needles and wax for this face off.
Expect funk, hip-hop, soul, disco, afrobeat, psychedelic rock and everything in between, starting early and playing into the evening for a chilled out Sunday vibe. Beer and food available all day and tunes playing throughout.

Originially planning to play a strictly 'Dan' set that included tunes from Danni Minogue, Steely Dan, D'angelo, The Dandy Warhols and songs from the soundtrack of Dangerous Minds, but later realising they didn't have the catalogue to follow through with such an ingenious idea, this dynamic duo plan to win the crowd over with hits from their private tape collection and their funky set up.

20th Century Hangover
20th Century Hangover is the DJ alias of Dann Gaymer, a Britishmusician, artist, and junk collector who has spent the last decade in EastAsia. The moniker is both a literal description of the sound sources utilised in the deejay sets, and a statement about the woes of a world spiraling towards annihilation. Tapes of multiple genres from record stores and junk heaps from all across the world; 8 bit samples from Gameboy games discovered in the markets of North China and Japan; Buddha and Dao boxes from temples across Asia; all of it adding to the colossal bonfire started by excesses of the lastcentury that show no sign of abating. The 20th century was one hell of a party,and now we have the hangover of wildfires and endless rubbish heaps to dealwith.

Jason also known as Jay 1,2 has been a music purist selector since arriving in Beijing in 2007. Hailing from the techno capital of the world Detroit, Michigan. Jay got his start at the now defunct Rickshaw and Saddle bars respectively. His eclectic selections of blending deep house, funk, disco, afro-beat, northern soul, rarities and golden age hip-hop has made sonic soundscapes at Migas, 4corners, fubar and home plate memorable, classic nights. His quarterly “Prince vs. Michael Jackson” where he plays their entire catalog is also a fan favorite and crowd pleaser. Jay 1,2’s musical styles reflects his eclectic tastes. Mixing muddy waters with wu tang clan is not out of the ordinary.

ADDJ
ADDJ was born and raised in NYC. His first foray into DJing began at his college radio station, WXDU Durham 88.7/90.7 FM, where for four years he hosted the punk/indie rock show “The Big Takeover”. Upon his return to Brooklyn, he continued to hound and pester bar- and club-goers with his particularly noxious cocktail of punk, garage rock, funk, soul, afrobeat, hip hop and reggae until they booted him out of the country. His hobbies include digging for vinyl, urban exploration, film and literature.
ADDJ 纽约人。他的第一次接触DJ，是在他的大学广播电台WXDU Durham 88.7/90.7 FM。大学四年中，曾经主持过朋克/独立摇滚表演" The Big Takeover "。回到布鲁克林后, 他用他多变的音乐风格持续吸引着酒吧和Club的观众，其中涵盖了从朋克、车库摇滚、恐怖、灵魂、afrobeat、嘻哈和雷鬼的多种风格。他的爱好包括收藏黑胶, 动物学, 电影和文学。
